‘Grilled Cheesus’ Sandwich Maker Let’s You Eat Christ’s Face

A Greenpoint Brooklyn entrepreneur is racking in the dough with a sandwich maker that presses the holy visage of Christ on to toast. Meg Shehan got the idea after hearing a woman sold a piece of toast with Jesus’ face on it for $28,000 online. She says,  “I was like ‘Oh people want a religious experience like that so badly they’d pay for it.’ I thought someone should make a grilled cheese maker and put Jesus’ face on it.” And so she calls it “Grilled Cheesus.”

It’s kind of a brilliant idea. The press – assembled in China for about $39 – works on any kind of sliced bread, and is so far a hit. Shehan told DNAinfo that a number of high profile outlets, including christian conventions, are selling the sandwich maker.

Come on, you know you want to eat Jesus’ face. And Christmas is just around the corner, how meta would that be? You can get yours here. Or if you prefer  the more tactile approach, Shehan will be selling the ‘Grilled Cheesus’ at the Brooklyn Night Bazaar.
