Drizzy Finally Gets His Diploma

No, it’s not from Degrassi High. Yes, I realize how predictable that joke was. As of last week, ya boy Drake is officially a high school graduate.

At age 15, rap superstar, Drake, dropped out of a very prestigious high school in the great up North to focus on his, then, acting career, against his mother’s wishes. One hundred thirty-eight episodes, 10 years, two albums, and one summer course later, he’s officially a high school graduate. With his mother was a teacher back in the day, she has to be proud of her son.
Drake credits his “desire for diplomas on the wall” (see Take Care, track four) to the University of Kentucky, where he served as a guest coach for their basketball team during a scrimmage and has been embraced by the team and the school as one of their own. Their hard work and perseverance inspired him to go back to school. Plus, he made it sans the wheelchair. Funny, eh?
