Watch| Marlon Palmer – Whitewashed

Popular YouTube user Marlon Palmer of the two-part viral video series “Sh-t Jamaicans Say” is back with another hilarious yet informative selection. Palmer says that not being able to finish a sentence in proper English makes you sound uneducated, while enunciating your words properly does not make you whitewashed. For those who don’t know what whitewashed means, “[the] person does not necessarily abandon his/her own culture but rather embrace others beside his/her own.”

Do you agree or disagree with Palmer? Watch the video and decide for yourself.

Rihanna is Keeping Busy!

In one week, Rihanna has released and/or has been a part of a few music videos. On YouTube, the views are steadily increasing for Drake’s “Take Care,” Coldplay’s “Princess of China,” (both featuring Rihanna), and Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been” from her sixth studio album “Talk That Talk.”

Drake, Jamie Smith, and Noah Shebib receive composition credit for “Take Care,” while the two latter names also have production credits under their belts. The songs features two songs, Gil Scott-Heron’s version of “I’ll Take Care of You,” and Leslie Gore’s “It’s My Party.” The song is the namesake of Drake’s second studio album, “Take Care,” which was released in November 2011. In the song Rihanna croons a sad tune, “If you let me/here’s what I’ll do/I’ll take care of you/I’ve loved and I’ve lost.”

The mood of the song and music video are similar, but the concept of the video is creative and abstract. It might one of Drake’s best music videos to date. Rihanna and Drake depict the highs and lows of relationships, which is also symbolized by the icebergs and fire in the video. To date, “Take Care” is number 13 on the Hot 100 Billboard Chart.

Coldplay released the tour version of  “Princess of China” on Apr. 29. This song comes from “Mylo Xyloto,” Coldplay’s fifth studio album. The song was written by the band mates of Coldplay. The song is a musical banter back and forth between Coldplay’s lead man Chris Martin and Rihanna as they sing to each other about love lost and what that love could have been. The song builds to a crescendo as Chris Martin and Rihanna sing, “Cause you really hurt me.”

Rihanna filmed the tour video for the single at the Taiko Center in Los Angeles. The video begins with Rihanna’s verse and continues to the end. Rihanna rocks a gangsta goth geisha look for the music video. The full version of the music video is set to released later this month.

On the last day of April, Rihanna released her third music video from “Talk That Talk.” The music video for “Where Have You Been” has already garnered over one million views in 24 hours. The dance track features a lot of choreography in the music video and interesting costume changes.

Rihanna is also making her film debut in the sci-fi movie “Battleship,” which made its world premiere on Apr. 3 in Tokyo, Japan.

It is an understatement to say that the woman is keeping busy.

Drake goes to The Bay to shoot this video, with an intro from Mac Dre’s moms, which is both very sincere and very intelligent marketing.

Shout out to Drizzy on the shameless plugs; those Nike gloves and that North Face Supreme coat.
And Shout out to Weezy on his eclectic sense of style.
Last but not least Tyga with the Last Kings attire.
